Kejriwal Dares to Attack Back

This Friday, in a scathing attack on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Delhi’s Chief Minister and National Convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) dared Punjab’s Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia to arrest him (Kejriwal) now; otherwise he would arrest Majithia after six months, marking the completion of SAD’s tenure.

Not only did Kejriwal, being in the State of Punjab, provoke the Bikram Singh Majithia, he also called him the “Drug Lord” in-spite of the fact that, the Delhi CM was in Amritsar, for the hearing of a defamation case on the same issue.

Ironically, a few days ago, Kejriwal was in Amritsar to appear before the Court in the defamation case filed by Bikram Singh Majithia. It seems that Kejriwal can’t stop putting his foot in his mouth and we can only predict that he’ll continue doing the same in times to come.

AAP MLA Arrests Continue

Many cases have arisen involving AAP legislators and MLAs, all leading to their arrest. Now, another AAP related arrest has been made after MLA, Kartar Singh Tanwar, had his farmhouse and offices raided by the Income Tax Department. Kartar is a MLA from Chattarpur.

Soon after, AAP Convener Dilip Pandey took to Twitter and said, “JustIn: IT raid on Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar. ModiJi had unleashed CBI, ACB, DP earlier, now IT too AAP wont bow down, won’t bend.”

“Disheartened by his past performance, Modi Ji seems to be improving his strike rate now. Almost one AAP MLA every day, to keep democratic principles away,” he posted in another tweet.

AAP legislators arrested in various cases

Amanatullah Khan – molesting and threatening a woman

Prakash Jarwal –misbehaving with a woman

Dinesh Mohaniya –misbehaving with a woman and a senior citizen

Somnath Bharti –domestic violence

Jitendra Tomar –faking education degree

Akhilesh Tripathi –rioting, criminal intimidation

Manoj Kumar –forgery in land grabbing case

Commando Surinder Singh –assaulting govt. employee

Mahendra Yadav –rioting, assaulting govt. employee

Rajesh Rishi – extortion

Naresh Yadav – sacrilege incident in Punjab

And now a new addition has been made to the list. What will become of AAP, only time will tell.

AAP Legislators Continue Getting Arrested

Another setback takes place for Delhi’s ruling party – Aam Aadmi Party, as a FIR is filed on the 26th of July against lawmaker Rajesh Rishi. It’s been claimed that he is charged with extortion as reported by NDTV.

Already two of AAP’s legislators have been arrested on the 23rd July – one for allegedly trying to mow down a woman and the other has been accused of the sacrilege of the Quran in Punjab. However, a total of 11 of AAPs legislators have been held in police custody for different cases as of far.

What will come of AAP only time will tell, this is for sure that at the moment their time does not seem to be going well.

AAP MLA Naresh Yadav Arrested

Sunday, June 24th, Punjab Police arrested AAP MLA Naresh Yadav for allegations of involvement in the Malerkotla Sacrilege incident. “We arrested AAP MLA Naresh Yadav from his house in Delhi. He will be produced in a Malerkotla court tomorrow,” Punjab Police, IG (Patiala Zone), Paramraj Singh Umra Nangal said.

For those of you who may not know what had occurred in the incident, here’s a brief: after the alleged desecration of the holy Quran on Saturday, the mob clashed with the police, injuring eight people. After the torn pages were recovered in front of a cemetery, the majorly Muslim town took heat and a mob entered the MLA’s house and torched the security personnel’s room. The police had to fire in the air to disperse the protesters. Than began a 100 bullet cross-fire between the cops and protestors, who also burned 2 buses, 10 private vehicles and ransacking government property.

Now, Naresh Yadav has been arrested as one of the accused, Vijay Kumar, claimed he had created the riot and led the mob at the behest of the AAP MLA.

He has been charges with IPC sections 109 (punishment for abetment if the act abetted is committed in consequence and where no express provision is made for its punishment), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth etc and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 295 (injury or defiling place of worship with an intent to insult the religion of any class).

To this Naresh Yadav claims that this is all a ‘Conspiracy’.

Navjot Singh Sidhu Calls It Quits

Navjot Singh Sidhu has taken everyone by surprise by giving in his resignation as the Rajya Sabha MP Nominee and BJP member. Speculations are that former BJP member is planning to join the Aam Aadmi Party instead.

On the day of his resignation, he walked into the Parliament adorning a yellow turban, which is the symbol of the AAP leaders of Punjab. He formally handed over his resignation to the Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari and walked off quietly.

Nothing was spoken of until 4 o’clock when his resignation was announced by the Rajya Sabha secretary general and that it had been accepted. But that’s not all, Navjot Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur, an MLA of Punjab has also given in her resignation from the party and her post.

Many reasons lie in front of us to speculate their sudden decision to leave BJP. No one from the BJP persuaded the couple to stay or rethink their decision as they claim that the said couple had already had two serious consultations with AAP on joining the party.

Dengue Scare in Delhi

The monsoon season has rolled around in Delhi and though this season brings with it a lot of relief from the heat, it also brings about the perennial causes of viral fever, malaria and typhoid. Just this Monday the national capital witness heavy rainfall and a drop in temperature to 25 degrees Celcius, two notches below normal for this time.

There has also been an increase in cases of monsoon disease and there is a mixture of such diseases, report doctors. “All those who have low immunity power or asthmatic patients are more prone to these problems in this season. The symptoms of monsoon diseases are mostly common like fever, cough, cold, headache, throat infection and stomach infection. If taken precautions, one can enjoy this season. Drinking water outside should be avoided. Eating stale food or which have been kept in open for long should be avoided,” said Dr RK Singal, Principal Consultant & Director, Internal Medicine, BLK Super Specialty Hospital.

So far there have been a total of 50 cases reported with dengue, 11 in one week. Last year Delhi saw up to 15,867 dengue cases, the worst in 20 years with the disease claiming 60 lives.

Dr Navneet Kaur, senior consultant at Internal Medicine, Apollo Spectra Hospitals said “We are expecting that the cases of dengue and malaria will shoot up drastically once we have a clear weather. Post rains, the weather becomes conducive for mosquito breeding. The Aedes mosquito thrives in hot, humid and high temperature, between 20 degree Celsius and 30 degree Celsius.”

Some ways of preventing getting sick this monsoon season as suggested by professionals are to keep your lower limbs covered as that is the general area where dengue carrying mosquitos tend to bite. Also one may use mosquito nets when sleeping. It’s also crucial to stay hydrated, drink boiled water and eat and drink fresh.

Arvind Kejriwal’s Visit to Amritsar

Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, paid a visit to the Harminder Sahib Gurudwara (Golden Temple) in Amritsar. There he performed various tasks of ‘sewa’ as a way to apologize for the Sikh sentiments that were hurt due to AAP’s Youth Manifesto campaign. He was however not the only one who performed the ‘sewa’, along with him were journalist-turned-politician Kanwar Sandhu, chairman of the Manifesto campaign and Ashish Khetan who went on to compare the Manifesto to the Sikh holy scripture Guru Granth Sahib.

For those who may not know, in Kejriwa’sl previous visit to Punjab, he kick started his Youth Manifesto campaign, where the posters were of the Golden Temple with the AAP symbol the ‘jhadoo’ (broom) at the bottom. This created an uproar amongst the people of Punjab claiming that this was a very hurtful and disgusting thing to do by Delhi CM. This stunt not only hurt Sikh sentiments but also cost him his reputation further in Punjab.

Religious bodies and the people at large, even claimed that Kejriwal’s visit to the Golden Temple is nothing more than a mere ‘political stunt’ to salvage his and party’s swiftly decreasing graph of popularity. The people also refused to pardon Kejriwal from his heinous sin on his previous visit, through the act of ‘sewa’.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar could not be reached for comments. SGPC additional secretary Daljit Singh Bedi said that the Committee had nothing to comment on the issue.

Media Continues to Provide Unwarranted Importance to AAP

“Led by power hungry Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party is reduced to bunch of disgruntled leaders. Its support base is shrinking rapidly and it is all but a hype created with the help of undue importance given by media”

CM of Delhi and the leader of AAP, Arvind Kejriwal, really knows what it takes to make headlines, be it ‘good’ or ‘bad’ for him and his party everything counts as long as Kejriwal and controversies go hand in hand. From the infamous ‘ink attack’ to the stone pelting when he last visited Punjab, many instances in attempt to hog limelight have arisen.

Advertising as Paid News

It is honest to say that the Delhi government received a whopping Rs. 526 crores for advertising, much higher than what the central government’s budget is. Even Punjab’s annual ad budget is Rs. 27 crores and still AAP spent more that that during Kejriva’s five-day visit to the state. Two-page ads were released for five days continuously in all of the region’s leading publication. In those ads there was no boasting of what the party had achieved but rather they resorted to print misleading ads that appeared like news features and were published extensively.

Propaganda by former journalists

Senior journalists turn AAP activists Ashutosh, Ashish Khetan and others, who used to host debates, are now pushing party agenda through the media connections. Huge advertising budgets along with vast PR machinery continue to fuel party agenda.

AAP was the hope that everyone needed, but now it’s a mere bubble on the verge of bursting. It lacks in ideology and does not have a clear defined vision, the supporter base is also dwindling fast and they are not able to deliver on any of the promises they had made.

Bhagwant Mann – Aimless and Agenda-less!

When AAP had suspended Dharamvir Gandhi and Harinder Singh Khalsa, two of it’s senior MPs, from party fold, they were left with no choice but to bring forth stand-up comedian Bhagwant Maan and Sangrur as party leaders of Lok Sabha. He immediately replaced Dharamvir Gandhi, who had raised his voice against AAP for having expelled co-founders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.

Just before he had been elevated to such a top position in the party, a formal complaint was send out to the party high command for his alcohol addiction. There was no action taken in regards to the complaint, rather his position was elevated and primarily due to his closeness in the ‘Arvind coterie’. The irony of it all is that beside becoming the leader of the Lok Sabha party, Mann is also the poster boy for a political campaign being run in Punjab to end ‘Nashakhori’ (addiction).

This rise for an entertainer is incredible – someone who rode through with his punchlines in poll campaigns and then eventually to Lok Sabha. But it is easy to guess how long his success will trail.

There is no doubt that he can pull in a crowd, being an entertainer and having had some fame in past. He now seems to be star leader of the party without there being any substantial base and leadership in Punjab. His theatrics and cheap antics may grab attention on a large scale but we have to question whether a person who has no understanding of basic democratic value can offer governance, and that too of the right kind?

Though his qualities as an entertainer may have appealed the masses, it is quite unlikely that he will be able to hold ground as a politician for long. A politician will be tested on a series of parameters that revolve around one or two major and central issues. A good politician in one who can not only understands but has full knowledge of the issues that grapple the society and can offer sustainable solutions, if no that their image will of course be tarnished but they can still be tested in the long run.

However, on the other hand if a politician has no clue about what kind of issues the public is facing than morally that person does not have the right to represent those people. Bhagwant Mann is one of those people. It’s quite clear that he has no vision or agenda for the people of Punjab, rather he is often seen being insensitive and irresponsible, hurting Sikh sentiments along the way. His addiction to alcohol is out in the open and yet he has been chosen to lead the people, without a clue, without a goal, without empathy.

Bhagwant Mann may have pushed his way through to Lok Sabha with his comic timing, but his political innings will be soon timed out!

Contrary to Popular Belief, AAP is In Fact Anti-Poor

“The condition laid down by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government prohibits MCD from employing new Safai ‘Karamcharis’ and class-IV employees. This move has not only adversely impacted the sanitation services in Delhi but has also reduced the employment opportunity for marginalised section of society.”

Demolition of slums

It has now been a good year since AAP has been in power who had also promised to eradicate the slum in Delhi, however, as of yet no action in that direction has occurred. And the people living in slums have a huge role to play in bringing AAP to power and for what?

The people belonging to the slum parts of Delhi were expecting houses made in the name of EWS as per the promise, but nothing like that has occurred so far. Another promise that they are in the hope for is the promise that the party would build ‘pucca’ houses for them

AAP had also promised way ahead of the polls that there would be no demolition taking place but they failed to keep their promise yet again. Due to which, last year in the month of December, a six month old child died in the anti-encroachment drive carried by the Railways in Shakur Basti, Northwest Delhi. AAP was well aware of what had happened but remained mum over the matter. The situation did slip out of their hands once and AAP came forward but only to hog the limelight.

Non-payment of pensions

AAP also has the audacity to increase their MLA’s salaries by a whopping 400%, which makes it approximately Rs 3 lakh/month!! They did not even think twice on the matter and to make matters worse, they spent another Rs 526 CRORES of the tax payer’s money on mere self-glorification!! The Delhi government does not have sufficient funds to pay pensions to senior citizens, widows and people with disabilities.

The only thing AAP is good is taking up as much of the spot light as possible and snatch votes through pure sympathy. There is absolutely no substantial claims that they have made and their tall orders are nothing but poll plank.
