AAP targeting Christian community in Punjab

Party leaders playing religious politics

The Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP supremo, Arvind Kejriwal has directed the party leaders of Punjab to play his favourite trick of using religious to woo the voters.

All the Punjab unit leaders of AAP have been directed to follow the footsteps of the top boss. The sincere leaders quickly acted after the advice of their supremo and visited the doaba region to please the Christian voters of Punjab.

AAP leaders pleasing

The AAP leaders met leaders of Punjab Christian United Front (PCUF) in Jalandhar as part of its ongoing ‘Punjab Dialogue’ programme to gather public response before it frames party’s manifesto for the 2017 Punjab polls.

AAP leader Durgesh Pathak and party’s former Delhi MLA Somnath Bharti discussed the problems faced by Christian leaders in the Doaba region and their long-pending demands, including lack of graveyards, and assured them to keep the same in mind. Somnath Bharti is the prominent face of the party because of his domestic violent case. Delhi police had arrested Bharti against a complaint made by his wife.

AAP targets vote banks only

In his recent visits to the state, AAP national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had tried to reach out to the Dalits by demanding Bharat Ratna, country’s highest civilian honour for BSP founder Kanshi Ram. He had also met the family of Dalit man Bhim Tank and offered his wife a job in Delhi government. He had also offered help the family members of the dalit scholar Rohit Vemula.

How foolishly the Kejriwal projected himself a massiah of the different communities by offering the lucrative incentives. He failed to give jobs in his own state, Delhi but he offered job to the resident of neighbouring states. This time the AAP has been targeting the Christian community in Punjab for votes only as the party has played the dalit politics on the birth anniversary of BSP founder Kanshi Ram.

Kejriwal makes in roads into ‘Dera’, addresses congregation inside

“Political leaders have long been visiting the Deras of Punjab. But they only pay obeisance and have a chat with sect head are not given the opportunity to address the congregation inside. Breaking all the protocol, Kejirwal managed to address the congregation inside the most prominent dera of Punjab.”

Dera Sachkhand Ballan in Jullandhar district of Punjab

On his recent tour to Punjab with an aim to woo dalit vote bank, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo has been visiting all the prominent ‘deras’ of the state. Enjoying a vast follower base, many of the political leaders try to milk the huge vote bank with the help of ‘deras’.

A politician visiting the ‘dera’ is nothing new but they only pay obeisance at the ‘dera’ or have brief chat with sect head but Arvind Kejriwal being the master manipulator managed to address the congregation inside ‘Dera Sachkhand Ballan’ at Jullandhar district.

Appropriates Dalit legacy of Kanshi Ram

Eyeing dalit vote bank in Punjab, Arvind Kejriwal sought to appropriate the legacy of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) founder Kanshi Ram with a visit to his birthplace in Rupnagar. In neighboring SBS Nagar (Nawanshahr), BSP supremo Mayawati appeared around two hours later at a rally held to mark Kanshi Ram’s birth anniversary.

It also took personal turns as Kejriwal addressed his host, Kanshi Ram’s sister Swaran Kaur, as ‘bhua’ (father’s sister). It must be noted that a ‘tug of war’ took place between Mayawati and Kejriwal to catch hold of Kanshi Ram’s sister. Kejriwal managed to have her on his side on the official function held to mark the birth anniversary of Kanshi Ram at Rupnagar.

Ahead of assembly polls, Kejriwal is going all out garner sympathy of dalit voters. From making inroads into ‘Dera’ to hijacking Kanshi Ram’s birth anniversary celebration, he has left no stone unturned to influence dalits in Punjab.

Clever Kejriwal met prominent dera heads of Punjab

Tried to please them for their support to AAP in 2017 polls

The AAP supremo during his recent visit to Punjab had deliberately put his all efforts to please the dalits along with the different dera heads in Punjab.

During his visit to Punjab on the birth anniversary of founder of late BSP leader Kanshi Ram, the AAP supremo had scheduled his visit to Dera Sachkand Ballan, the village of environmentalist Balbir Singh Seechewal and at Valmik Yog Ashram.

Kejriwal had arrived at Dera Sachkhand Ballan, a sect with considerable Dalit following, on Tuesday.  He had a closed-door meeting with the sect chief, Sant Niranjan Singh.

The AAP national convener had visited Seechewal’s village where he spent half an hour at the sewage treatment plant being used for irrigation purposes.

As per the information, the last stop of the muffler man was the dera of Baba Pargat Nath. The dera has a huge following among the Valmiki community in the area.

Kejriwal bait the dera heads to woo the people

The Chief Minister of Delhi has tried to bait the dera heads in Punjab so that the following of the sects could support the AAP in the Punjab assembly polls in 2017. The muffler man invited Balbir Singh Seechewal in Delhi and requested him to come to help the government for cleaning the Yamuna.

AAP party supremo has perfectly en cashed his Punjab tour and moreover, he did not leave any chance to please the activists or dera heads. Kejriwal knows that if the leader is happy with AAP then it’s obvious that the followers would follow their heads.

The deras’ have huge fan following of dalits

On the birth anniversary of BSP founder Kanshi Ram, the Chief Minister of Delhi had targeted two deras’, Dera Sachkhand Ballan and dera of Baba Pargat Nath. The deras’ have huge followers from the dalit community and they were on the radars of Kejriwal. The AAP national convenor knew that Punjab has maximum number of dalit voters in the state as compare to other states.
