Kejriwal’s yet another poll stunt; demands Bharat Ratna for Kanshi Ram

Politicians driven by political opportunism can go to any level to score brownie points. Eyeing dalit voters ahead of assembly polls, Arvind Kejriwal is leaving no stone unturned to garner dalit sympathy. Adding on to the ongoing tussle between AAP and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on who will celebrate BSP founder and Dalit icon, Kanshi Ram’s birth anniversary – a new controversy has arisen – who will facilitate ‘Bharat Ratna’ to Kanshi Ram?



AAP is leaving no stone unturned in gaining on dalit vote bank. So and so much it tried to hijacked celebration to mark Kanshi Ram’s birth anniversary. They went all out to catch hold of Kanshi Ram’s family in Punjab. All state leaders desperately tried to ensure her presence at the AAP’s official function.

The drama didn’t end here – Kejriwal, swiftly and in a very clever manner tried to steal Mayawati’s political move. In a very interesting development, Kejriwal repeated the claim made by Mayawati in her public rally at Nawanshahar to mark the birth anniversary of Kanshi Ram. Mayawati announced in the public rally that the party would ensure that Bahart Ratna is awarded to Kanshi Ram and Kejriwal made exactly the same claim at function held by AAP at Roopnagar.

It must be important to note that Punjab has the highest Dalit vote share in the country constituting 32% of the electorate in the state. Dalit votes could play a major role in deciding the fate of political parties and eyeing huge Kejriwal can now stoop to any extent to woo dalit voters.
