Delhi’s One-man party

“Arvind Kejrwal led Aam Aadmi Party is leaving no stone unturned to make a mark in forthcoming Punjab polls. Falling short of political leadership in state, it is relying heavily on star power. Latest to join the ranks is comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi.”

Gurpreet Ghuggi is the latest comedian to board the flight to politics. He is the second stand up comedian after Bhagwant Mann to join the Punjab state unit of party. Realizing the fact that the party lacks grass root level base or leadership, they have no option but to resort on these comedians to pull crowd.

But the party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, has failed to understand is the fact people want sheer governance and indulging in theatrics and cheap antics will not the party anywhere.

Everyone wants to be CM

AAP is reduced to platform for disgruntled political leaders to prove themselves. All leaders, who fail to get ticket for other major political parties, see this is huge opportunity and all such leaders are flocking AAP. In such situation all those joining AAP are aspiring to be next chief minister of state. Leave aside elections and thinking about governance in Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party is witnessing a major tussle within the party itself as everyone wants to beat the race of becoming CM face of the party.

There is no credible face in the party other than Arvind Kejriwal. He might have sailed through in Delhi election due to his oratory skills loaded with false claims & tall promises. But in Punjab, the bunch of comedian can only help him draw attention and pull crowd at the public rallies.
