Aam Aadmi Party, which rose to power on the aftermath of Anna movement, was committed offer alternate politics while eradicating corruption from roots. While eradicating corruption remained only a lip service as innumerable scams marred the functioning of Delhi government in past on year, claim of offering alternate politics is also far from reality. Majority of the leaders flocking from other political parties have no credible background to boast of but ironically a large number of them are facing criminal cases.
No clear vision for state
AAP relies heavily on rhetoric but lacks substance to prove the point. Besides lacking organizational structure, AAP doesn’t have a blueprint in place for Punjab. Be it agriculture, industry, education or social welfare, AAP doesn’t have a clearly defined vision for anything.
AAP also faces major leadership crisis in Punjab. Arvind Kejrwal is the face of the campaign and they don’t have any other tall leader in party. AAP is on a hunt to find CM candidate for the state but has not been able to find anyone. The party tried to rope in Navjot Singh Sidhu, BJP leader and former MP from Amritsar but couldn’t succeed. Later, Aam Aadmi Party was desperate to get Manpreet Singh Badal, Founder of People’s Party of Punjab onto party fold but to their disappointment, he eventually merged with congress.
A party of outsiders, it comprises of people with leftist leanings and even those who have support terrorism. But contrary, to their claims of offering alternate politics all disgruntled political leaders are flocking AAP in horde.
